Global News shows footage from the inaugural Ice Dragon Boat Festival that was held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 in the nations capital Ottawa. It was held as part of the Canada 150 festivities. Both Canada and China promoted the event that saw the registration of 60 teams of paddlers sell out within minutes! Teams were represented from across both Canada and the US.
The event was well attended with thousands of spectators watching the races. The paddlers were extremely happy with the event.
