Fall is upon us and as many of you are aware, October 1st is a big day for the BeaverTails Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival. Our inaugural festival in 2017 was the first Ice Dragon Boat race in North America. We have consistently sold out four straight festivals and set multiple attendance and participation records as the World’s Largest Ice Dragon Boat Festival. In 2018 we were named the Ottawa Tourism New Company of the Year. The festival is a world-class celebration that offers a variety of attractions including sports demonstrations, non-stop racing, cultural programming free concerts.
Throughout the year, we have been busy planning for the fifth edition of this one of a kind event however many restrictions have been placed upon us due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. Like everyone around the world, we continue to hope for a return to normal and encourage everyone to remain diligent and continue to wear masks, wash their hands, and observe social distancing. Current Federal and Provincial restrictions unfortunately prevents so many of our friends from joining us.
We are proud to say that we will continue to plan the fifth edition of the BeaverTails Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival so that we will be ready to welcome you back when restrictions have been lifted. While things may look a bit different this year, the cultural celebration will continue as we highlight the fabric of our diverse community.
