Sarah Swire is a writer, musician and actor who’s debut record, Sister Swire, was produced by Canadian icon, Joel Plaskett. Swire’s art rock project is a dauntless, exhilarating & witty record with moral force. The songs collected on Sister Swire are a series of semi-fictionalized portraits about its titular character. This is not sad-girl music. This is a duet with chaos, learning to champion anger (without hate), and anarchy via The Absurd. With punk & theatrical undertones, this album speaks particularly to those who have struggled with addiction, obsession, anxiety, paranoia and the dangerous coping mechanisms that lead to an uncanny duality in personality. It’s a study of guilt and how the way one’s behaviour affects their community, the world around them, and their love for themselves
