In conjunction with Winterlude, the Ottawa Ice Dragon Boat Festival is hosting this inaugural event with partners the International Ice Dragon Boat Federation Series, Canadian Heritage and the NCC on February 18, 2017 at Dows Lake on the Rideau Canal.
The Ottawa Metro Newspaper discusses where the international events have previously been held and that this is the first time in North America. Registration was sold out for two blocks of teams of paddlers in minutes, making this the largest International Ice Dragon Boat event to be held with 60 teams from all over North America.
